THE NETHERLANDS ANTILLES & ARUBA

The Netherland Antilles consists of Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, Saint Eustatius, and Saint Maarten.  The latter two are free ports.

  • COMMERCIAL INVOICE - Three (3) copies required.  When an import licence is required, the licence number should appear on the invoice.

  • CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN - Not usually required.  If requested by the importer or Letter of Credit, two copies are necessary.  The certificate of Origin must be certified by a recognised Chamber of Commerce, which usually requires one notarized copy for its files.

  • PRO FORMA INVOICE - This may be requested by the importer.

  • BILL OF LADING OR AIR WAYBILL - Four (4) copies of the Bill of Lading are required. There are no regulations specifying the form for any particular shipment.  Bills made out “to order” are accepted.  Air cargo shipments require at least three (3) copies of the air waybill, in lieu of bills of lading.

  • PACKING LIST.  Not compulsory, but would facilitate customs clearance

  • WEIGHTS AND MEASUREMENTS - Metric System.

Note:  Documentation should be forwarded separately to reach the Netherlands Antilles before arrival of the goods.
